The Real Price of Greatness
Hey Brother,
As a man,
There comes a time when you have to decide:
Do you want to be liked,
Or do you want to be remembered?
We live in a time where many men just want to be "liked,"
And that's okay.
But there’s another group of men who want to be remembered as GREATS,
Yet they can’t handle even a tiny bit of criticism.
I’m telling you this because,
I can’t think of a single great man who was liked by everyone.
He had fans who loved him, but the majority of people disliked or even hated him. Some still do.
Think about it—
Pick a man who’s seen as one of the all-time greats.
He could be alive or no longer with us.
Have someone in mind?
Now ask yourself: Is he liked by everyone?
Exactly.
The price of greatness is this: being misunderstood.
To become great, you must let go of wanting approval or applause.
You’ll have to make tough choices.
Choices that only you understand.
Choices that push you closer to your goal.
Choices that will divide people, with most of them being against you.
At those times, you’ll need to ask yourself:
How big is your dream?
How strong is your determination?
How much criticism are you willing to take?
Because choosing greatness means leaving the majority behind.
And they WILL dislike you for it.
They’ll resent you because you broke free from mediocrity and dared to follow your dreams.
But most of all,
They’ll hate you because you remind them of what they COULD have been but were too afraid to become.
This is the real price of greatness.
